Welcome to the online home of Nantgarw Porcelain

Nantgarw Chinaworks Museum

The Nantgarw Chinaworks Museum is run by a Trust and The Friends of Nantgarw, a volunteer group who realise the historical importance to our Welsh Heritage of the last complete 19thC porcelain manufactory in Great Britain.

The Pottery house still stands today but most of the buildings are in need of renovation, one kiln and pipe works already restored. The brainchild of William Billingsley, Nantgarw in 1813 was to become the most desirable and sought after porcelain of its time and still is today, the history of which you can find on this web site or a much better experience would be a visit to the pottery itself.  We hope in the very near future to open the house to visitors on the weekends, Saturday & Sunday’s from 11.am to 3.pm.  If it proves a success then it will continue and certian days in the week as well.  Watch this space!!

The friends of Nantgarw hope that your visit to the museum, either through these pages or your visit to Nantgarw house will be a pleasurable and an informative experience.

This web site is under construction and a regeneration of the Museum is about to take place.
